💖Palisade was incorporated on April 4, 1904, so from March 1 until Palisade’s
birthday on April 4, local businesses are offering 1904-themed deals to highlight our rich heritage and encourage visitors to explore Palisade.

🍑 Local restaurants, wineries, shops, and lodging providers are offering exclusive promotions that tie into the 1904 theme. The Palisade Historical Society is offering Guided Walking Tours (normally suggested donation of $5 per person for a minimum of 4 people) for $19.04 regardless of group size! The Palisade History Museum is always FREE admission!

🍇 You’ll find discounts like $19.04 meal specials, 19% off select wines, and even a discount on a Powderhorn lift ticket!

đź’– All participating businesses and offerings are listed at VisitPalisade.com/1904.

Palisade History Museum

We have renovated a pre-1939 log building into Palisade’s first history museum as the permanent home for our collection of historic photos, documents, and memorabilia.

Admission is free, and donations are appreciated.

Postcards From Palisade Podcast
E39: Palisade’s Surprising Seasonal Agricultural Workers of the Past
JoAnn Rasmussen, Chair of the Palisade Historical Society, takes a deep dive into how past generations of farmers and orchardists in Palisade and the Grand Valley met their ever-present need for seasonal agricultural workers.
We might sometimes feel isolated from international and national events here in Palisade, but the seasonal labor sources for this town have always been driven by outside circumstances. Listen to learn about the fascinating range of people who helped bring Palisade’s agricultural products to market.

The Palisade Historical Society

The Palisade Historical Society is dedicated to collecting, preserving, and communicating the unique history of this small, Western Colorado town which was settled in the 1890s and incorporated in 1904.

Digitizing The Palisade Tribunes

Another important project has been our work with preserving, digitizing, and adding issues of The Palisade Tribune, our newspaper of record from June 6, 1903 to March 2014 to the Colorado Historic Newspaper Collection database. It is free to search the database, and we continue fundraising to get as many of the remaining issues on the database as possible.

You can even search the database from here!
